Fine shoes should always be stored on shoe trees that are just the right size and shape – preferably those made of wood. This helps remove folds from the leather and makes the shoes much easier to clean. For practical reasons we recommend varnished shoe trees made of beech or oak. Unlike cedar, these woods are highly durable and not at all sensitive to dirt and grime.
